Review.jpg - We review the key aspects of the resort on a scale from one to ten -- one being bad, and ten being excellent.Rooms: 9.5 Our room was wonderful. It was spacious and very well appointed. Great amenities including a large flat screen TV (we never used), CD player, a fully stocked bar and mini-fridge (re-stocked daily), plenty of drawers and storage space, comfy-firm bed, and a well appointed bath. Housekeeping did a super job of keeping the room clean and stocked (including bottled water and towels). We took off half a point for some minor noise issues at a small off-resort bar near our room.Water sports/Activities: 7 They no longer water ski here, so that was a small bummer. The water was never really calm enough anyway. Water sports is scheduled to be open from 9:30 to 4:30, but in reality it ran more like almost ten to about 4. They should be open at 8 or 8:30 (IMO). They had a few working Hobies, but there was often a line of people waiting to use them. Windsurfing would have been great, if they had more than two sails (a 4.1 and a 7.0). There is no good snorkeling off the beach. They had tennis courts, but we didn't use them. They had no beach/pool game activities near the main pool.Bars: 8 A good selection of imported liquors. Real bananas were often available for drinks. Generally okay bartenders, but very inconsistent. It would have been nice if the main pool bar was open before 10:30 -- just for non-alcoholic drinks.Restaurants: 9.5 Very good food and service. No limit on the number of times you could dine at a given restaurant, but getting the reservations was difficult. It seems that many people booked dinners for their entire stay, as soon as they got there (weird). Our favorite restaurant was Mario's Italian restaurant.Beach/Pools/Grounds: 7/10/9 The beach is public, and so got busy when a cruise ship came in -- which was very often. The added security required to keep cruise ship people out of the resort takes away from the care-free atmosphere. One guard almost didn't let us back on the grounds because we did not have our room key with us. The beach was otherwise very nice and clean. However, local vendors camp out at the resort beach entrances. One guy selling shells would blow a horn all day long. The main pool was very nice, with a big hot-tub next to it. The temperature in the pool and tub were very good. Pool floats were almost always available. The grounds were very nice on both sides of the resort.Reception/Front desk: 9.5 The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They bring cool towels and drinks when you arrive. They also served drinks and sandwiches when we were leaving -- a nice touch.Overall Service: 9 Generally very good.Overall: 9 Your mileage may vary. We try to be flexible about enjoying whatever is available. We probably should have spent time exploring theisland, and we did not.
