| In late Spring we really wanted to get away. We were starting to think that covid might be settling down and it would be safe enough if we always got take out meals and such. Assateahue seemed like a great choice for us. It was close enough that we could drive there in one shot. And honestly it has been on our list for a long time. We booked a hotel room and went for it! We timed it very well -- weather wise. Mornings and evenings were cool and daytime temperatures were getting warm. We really didn't know what to expect when we got there, but we were very pleased at the photo opportunities and the relative lack of dense crowds. The beach is a super nice area with a campground right in the dunes. We had a super time here, and we've put some of the photos on a web page here to share.
