2011_09_21_AcadiaNP-10195-Edit750.jpg - I love Precipice Trail. It's a non-technical rock climb -- otherwise known as a Class 4 climb. A Class 4 climb "can involve short steep sections where the use of a rope is recommended." What makes Precipice Trail a Class 4 climb is the iron rungs and ladders that have been placed in the spots that would have required a rope to climb. It is a fun, airy hike that requires you to keep your wits about you. We try to do it every time we go to Acadia.
