title.jpg - This Spring we decided to go back to the Fort Meyers area of Florida. There are many great wildlife and birding areas between Fort Meyers and the Everglades, but we didn't see many of them the last time we were there. For this trip we definitely wanted to re-visit the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. We also made first-time visits to Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, Corkscrew Swamp Audubon Sanctuary, and Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park. We also hired a boat out of the Everglades (Chokoloskee) to take us out for a different view of the wildlife. While we were there we got to visit with Mom & Dad. Mom had wanted to collect shells on Captiva Island, so we spent some time on the beautiful beach there. The weather during our stay was really terrific. We had cool mornings and warm days, with only half a day of rain for the whole week. We got to see some interesting sites, including a venue of vultures feeding upon an alligator carcass! Cool! We tried to capture some of the beautiful birds and critters that we came across. We hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as we enjoyed taking them!Happy trails, -Mike & Hali
