Review.jpg - We review the key aspects of the resort on a scale from one to ten -- one being horrendously bad, and ten being perfection. Rooms: 9.4 We purchased the lowest possible level of room (and were not upgraded). That being said, the room was pretty nice. It had everything we needed. It was relatively quiet. It was always pretty clean and stocked with water. We enjoyed the balcony tub, and the balcony itself was actually usable. The HVAC worked well. The bath area was nice. Reception / Front Desk: 9.6 The checkin process was fast. We called the front desk once and they responded very quickly. Water Sport: 9.1 They just happened to have 2 new Hobies, and the others weren't too bad. The windsurfing gear was in really bad shape. The staff was really good for both sailing and snorkeling. It was always pretty windy, but they still let us go out most of the time. Restaurants: 9.6 The food was really very good across the board. We liked the variety of restaurants and menus. The deserts were sometimes very good. The establishments were beautiful and inviting. Bars: 9.2 They stocked all of our favorite brands. Consistency was sometimes an issue, but that is often the case. Beach / Pools / Grounds: 9.5 / 8.8 / 10 The beach was really well kept and very clean. Staff was often seen taking drink orders throughout the day. We didn't really sit down long enough to capitalize on that much. The pools were generally very clean and kept at good temperatures. The hot tubs seemed excessively hot to us. Beach / pool towels were almost always available (except after a rain shower). The grounds here are wonderful! This site is relatively small, but they creatively stack a good number of rooms on what they have. In between these buildings are beautiful plantings that are constantly being maintained by very friendly and courteous grounds crews. We would walk the grounds early and late every day, and we really enjoyed those walks. Overall Service: 9.5 The vast majority of the staff here give a 110% effort and it shows. Sadly there are a small number on the staff that are just punching the clock. They stand out pretty clearly. Overall: 9.5 A great vacation experience. We had some trouble with flights getting here, but we would gladly return if we could get good flights.
