Staircase in the old Point Loma Lighthouse. This lighthouse was first lit in 1855 and was in service for 36 years, it was taken out of service on March 23, 1981. The lighthouse was built on a bluff 422 feet above sea level at what looked to be a good location, but the light was often obscured by fog and low clouds. | 2017_05_SanDiegoandJoshuaTree-10049-BW_Edit1000.jpg |
