| While in the Hayden Valley in Yellowstone we had seen stands of Aspen trees with fencing around them. We did not know why it was there and I postulated that maybe it was some sort of experimental tree growth or something similar. We think, after watching this Bull Elk destroy this poor tree in the name of scratching his antler itch, that the reason is that the Elk will simply destroy those trees come fall. |
