We had the joy and sadness of watching this baby turtle leave its birthplace and make its way to the ocean. It apparently was the last of its hatching to get out. We saw plenty of empty holes and then we saw this poor guy, all covered in sand stuck to the yolk from its egg and half blinded by it. With some help from other tourists it got to the waterline and made it into the sea. I hope it survived. With the warming of the waters the turtles are hatching at less opportune times to get to the ocean safely. We heard that there are organizations around the island that show up to help get the babies into the water safely. | 2016_11_Barbados-12398-Edit1000.jpg |
