CostaRica_26.JPG - And again. This tiny frog is also known as the strawberry poison arrow frog. The adults are between 2 and 2.5 cm long (3/4-1 inch). The males are very territorial and patrol it defending it from other mating or calling males. Non-breeding males, and of course females, are allowed in. The fights between males can last up to 20 minutes with the males standing on their back legs and wrestling chest to chest. The loser is not killed but retreats from the victor's territory.
