Argiope spiders are a type of orb weaver. These spiders are found even in the middle of the day in the center of their webs, head down, legs paired up. Argiope's add a stabilimentum to their webs which are silk structures that sometimes appear to be decorations but their true functions are unknown. They can be very conspicuous and change as the spider ages going from large and dense to a sparser one as they get older. | CostaRica_21.JPG |
