The Pacific golden plover is considered a migratory species here in Hawaii. These birds could be seen at most of the beach areas, but this shot was taken in front of a little pond at the Kaua'i Hilton in Lihue. Many scientists believe that the original settlers found the Hawai'ian islands by following the golden plover during its annual migration from Tahiti. | _MIK0052.jpg |
