Arctic foxes live in some of the coldest places on earth but due to its adaptations (round body, thick fur and a good supply of body fat along with a specialized heat exchange within the circulation of the paws and fur on the soles of the paws) they do not shiver until the temperature gets below -97 F (-70 C). Arctic foxes have incredibly sensitive hearing - they can determine exactly where their prey is moving below the snow and pounce exactly on it. This too helps conserve energy and heat. | 2016_01_08_Montana-12491-Edit1000.jpg |
