We had been walking down the beach for about 25 minutes when we saw this Yellow-crowned Night-Heron. We walked the rest of the beach and the all the way back to the resort. We then decided to get our cameras and walk back down the beach -- to see if the bird was still there. It was! Mid-week there were only a few people on the beach and we felt pretty safe carrying our cameras around. One day we tried to walk the other way, and the guard said we shouldn't bring the cameras. He had seen a couple of unsavory guys hanging out in the trees. |
