2010_09_27_Yellowstone-10731-1-Edit750.jpg - We saw this family of mountain goats up on the hillside at the Golden Gate area of the Grand Loop Road. It was a bit exhilarating doing these images, behind us just passed the guard rail was a pretty steep drop and the road was quite narrow with cars never paying attention to the speed limit as they came around the sharp turn. Even more challenging was the wind that was not only strong and persistent, but gusty. It was a challenge to keep the cameras steady (and don't forget that steep drop behind us). These critters were also a goodly bit away and UP it was one of the few times I was glad I'm short, I didn't have to extend my center column just to keep from cricking my neck too badly instead of shortening the legs of the tripod. This is a bit artsy, the scene was very busy and kind of blah so I thought I'd try a creative look to the image.
