One of the Medici lions - Fancelli's lion at the Loggia dei Lanzi. This lion sculpture origiates from a 2nd centry marble relief that was carved out by Giovanni di Scherano Fancelli and was one of the two lions to decorate the staircase of the Villa Medici owned by Ferdinando I de'Medici, the Grand Duke of Tuscany in the late 16th century. | 2017_09_09_Italy-10145_DxO_Edit1000.jpg |
